Two young brothers in Grand Rapids raised more than $1,500 to help the homeless - and they did it by collecting and recycling pop cans.

Ten-year-old Caleb Graves and his 7-year-old brother Jacob decided to take action after seeing a man panhandling.

Their goal was to raise enough money to throw the homeless a pizza party. But when the owners of Peppino's Sports Grille, located at Kalamazoo Ave. and Eastern Ave. south of 60th St., heard what the boys were up to, they ended up donating 30 pizzas for 100 people.

The bash took place on Friday and everyone had a great time, including the brothers, who passed out lemonade. Since the pizzas were donated, the money the brothers raised will now be used for birthday parties.
