Michigan State wide receiver Aaron Burbridge was named Big Ten freshman of the week after a stellar performance against Indiana Saturday afternoon.
Burbridge, in his first start for the Spartans, finished the afternoon with eight catches for 134 yards. Both were the highest totals for any Spartans receiver this season.
His 100-yard effort was the first in history by a Michigan State wide receiver.
Sidelined early in the season due to an injury, Burbridge was a candidate for a medical redshirt, but after a series of games in which the receiving corps continually dropped passes, Burbridge was inserted into the starting lineup to shake things up.
He answered the challenge and was duly rewarded Monday morning by the Big Ten.
