(WXYZ) - Brady Hoke announced Wednesday that Al Borges will not return as offensive coordinator for the Wolverines football team in 2014.
"Decisions like these are never easy," said Hoke in a release issued by the University of Michigan. "I have a great amount of respect for Al as a football coach and, more importantly, as a person. I appreciate everything he has done for Michigan Football for the past three seasons."
Borges followed Hoke from San Diego State to Michigan. He was forced to adapt to the unique skill-set of Denard Robinson in his first two years on the job and finally had an opportunity to showcase his pro-style offense in 2013.
Michigan's inexperienced offensive line struggled to protect quarterback Devin Gardner and the offense never lived up to expectations.
