All-Star Game draws record ratings in Detroit

DETROIT - Six Detroit Tigers in the All-Star Game turned heads in Detroit.

They turned on TV's too.

Detroit led all markets with a 20.3 rating of last night's game on Fox. The next closest in ratings were St. Louis (16.4), Kansas City (13.9). Host city New York had an 11.3 rating.

The American League shut out the National League, 3-0. It was the AL's first win since 2009.

Max Scherzer started on the mound for the AL, and Miguel Cabrera started at third base. Jhonny Peralta, Torii Hunter, Prince Fielder, and Justin Verlander were all in uniform.

Monday night's Home Run Derby on ESPN drew a 9.8 rating in Detroit, also the highest of any city in America. Prince Fielder was the returning champion, but was knocked out in the first round.
