Detroit Tigers reveal Opening Day activities, say Willie Horton will throw out first pitch

DETROIT (WXYZ) - The Detroit Tigers have released details on the events surrounding the team's Comerica Park home opener on Friday.

In addition to being the home opener, this will be the first chance the team has to raise the flag marking them as the 2012 American League Champions.

Motown legends, The Four Tops, will also be performing the national anthem before the game. US Air Force Staff Sergeants Patrick Jefferson will then deliver the game ball to the mound.

The ball will then be turned over to hometown hero and member of the 1968 World Series Champion team Willie Horton, who will throw out the first pitch. His 1968 teammate and current Tigers radio broadcaster Jim Price will catch the first pitch.

The first 10,000 fans through the gate on Opening Day will receive a Miguel Cabrera 2013 Magnet Schedule. The gates will open at 10:30 am.

The Tigers face the Yankees in the home opener and game time is 1:08 pm.
