Tigers third baseman Miguel Cabrera left Monday night's game against Chicago in the fifth inning due to injury.
The team announced the injury as a sore left hip flexor and said he will be evaluated on a day-to-day basis.
Cabrera seemed to aggravate his hip running the bases in the top of the fifth inning. He mouthed the word, "Ow" as he crossed the plate following Victor Martinez' RBI single to centerfield.
He spoke with Tigers trainer Kevin Rand and manager Jim Leyland on the bench immediately following the play and appeared to be in pain.
Cabrera took the field in the bottom of the fifth, but was removed after one out was recorded. He was replaced by Don Kelly.
