A report released Wednesday night on SI.com has linked Tigers shortstop Jhonny Peralta to a doctor who's currently under investigation for possibly providing performance enhancing drugs to MLB players.
The report indicates Peralta's name is included in the records of Tony Bosch, who came under fire last week when it was discovered many elite MLB players may have utilized his services to obtain illegal enhancers.
While there is reportedly no direct link between Peralta and performance enhancers in Bosch's records, he is one of many clients of Seth and Sam Levinson to be connected to the Biogenesis wellness clinich in Coral Gables, FL.
In the report, Peralta denies any involvement and released a statement to SI.com through his agent: "I have never used performance enhancing drugs. Period. Anybody who says otherwise is lying."
The Tigers issued a statement Wednesday night: "The Detroit Tigers fully support Major League Baseball's Joint Drug Prevention and Treatment Program. We are aware of this report, however since this matter is currently part of an investigation by Major League Baseball, the Club is not at liberty to comment."
