Detroit Tigers trade pitcher Doug Fister to Washington Nationals for three players

(WXYZ) - The Detroit Tigers are confirming that pitcher Doug Fister has been traded to the Washington Nationals.

The Tigers pick up left handed pitchers Robbie Ray and Ian Krol and utility player Steve Lombardozzi in the deal.

The team tweeted the details Monday night.

Fister was 14-9 with the Tigers for the season. He had a 3.67 ERA in 33 total appearances.

Krol was 2-1 with the Nationals this season. He had a 3.95 ERA in 32 games. Ray played in the Nationals' minor league system. He was 6-3 with a 3.11 ERA while splitting his time with the team's AA Harrisburg and A Potomac affiliates.

Lombardozzi appeared in 118 games for the Nationals last season. He had 2 home runs and 22 RBIs with a .259 batting average.
