Tigers decline contract offer to pitcher Daniel Schlereth

DETROIT - The Detroit Tigers have declined to tender a contract offer to pitcher Daniel Schlereth for 2013.

Schlereth pitched in six games last year before going on the disabled list April 21 with left shoulder tendinitis. He finished the years in the minors.

The 26-year old was acquired in the Tigers blockbuster deal with New York that saw Austin Jackson and Curtis Granderson switching teams.

In three seasons with Detroit, Schlereth had a 4-2 record with a 3.98 ERA in 73 games.
