Billups keeping options open on and off court after season

AUBURN HILLS (WXYZ) - The end of the line as a player is approaching and Chauncey Bilups is keeping his options open as he looks toward the 2014-15 season.

The 2004 NBA Finals MVP feels he has the skills to be a successful executive in the NBA and says he's learned a great deal from Joe Dumars during his two stints in Detroit.

Billups has been mentioned as a wild card candidate in the search for a replacement for Dumars, but it's unlikely Pistons owner Tom Gores would entrust someone with no front office experience to turn the franchise around at this point.

That doesn't rule out Billups as a candidate for a less prominent front office position.

Billups still hasn't decided if he's ready to retire as a player.
