Birmingham Groves tops Bloomfield Hills in Meijer Game of the Week

BLOOMFIELD HILLS, Mich. - Birmingham Groves knows how to play spoiler.

Visiting Bloomfield Hills High School for the first game since Andover and Lahser combined, the Falcons topped the host Blackhawks, 47-19 in WXYZ's Meijer Game of the Week.

The first Groves play from scrimmage went for a score. Ross Williams took the first snap 69 yards for a touchdown. Bloomfield Hills finally got on the board in the second quarter, when Michael Pickens ran it for a score. At the half, Groves led 34-13.

Thunderstorms ultimately delayed the game until a Saturday conclusion.

7 On Your Sidelines also featured Detroit East English and Loyola and Detroit Cass Tech's opening win over Southfield at the Prep Kickoff Classic.
