Castroneves and Power look forward to changes at Belle Isle

DETROIT (WXYZ) - Three-time Indianapolis 500 winner Helio Castroneves and Penske Racing teammate Will Power paid a visit to meet and greet fans at the auto show on Friday.

The racing teammates also talked about upcoming changes on the Detroit Grand Prix track on Belle Isle during the event on May 31-June 2, 2013.

"Adding the long straight [means the track] will be a lot faster," Power, who finished fourth at Belle Isle in 2012 after starting second, said. "There will be more passing on the track, and it will be better for the fans."

Speaking of the fans, Castroneves talked about some of the exciting features they can expect to see at the renovated track.

"You have the suites, the VIP area. You've gotta have a good connection [if you're planning to come out]. You can call me or call Will Power ... we can sort out something, don't you think?" said Castroneves smiling while looking over at Power.

As the excitement starts building for the Belle Isle Grand Prix in just a few months in the Motor City, Castroneves sent a little message to his racing partner on who has the 'winning' upper hand at the race track.

"Now talking about the credentials -- excuse me, you know, I've got it," said Castroneves with a big smile.

Power's response?

"Three-time Indy 500 winner for you as well."

Castroneves responds with, "thank you. Here we go, yeah, don't forget about that."

Then Power told Castroneves that he wishes he could just grab one Indy 500 victory.

"You'll get your time buddy," said Castroneves with a smile standing next to Power. "You'll get your time. Not right now."

For now, Castroneves looks forward to hopefully driving back into victory lane at Belle Isle for the first time since 2001.
