(WXYZ) - Mitch McGary's days as a Wolverine may be over, but his career in Oklahoma City is off to a solid start.
McGary had a double-double in the Thunder's 98-84 win over the Nets on Monday night. He put up 18 points and 10 rebounds in the contest.
McGary was essentially forced into the NBA draft after facing a potential NCAA-sanctioned suspension for the entire 2014-15 season. He missed much of 2013-14 due to a back injury that required season-ending surgery.
McGary, who was selected in the first round (21st overall) of the draft, played in a majority of Monday night's contest. He also saw 21 minutes in the Thunder's Summer League opener on Sunday, a 84-63 loss to the Grizzlies in which he scored eight points.
Clearly, his back is feeling better.
The next chance to catch McGary in action for Oklahoma City is Wednesday at 3 p.m. against the Pacers.
