ANN ARBOR, Mich. (WXYZ) - The 2014 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic with the Detroit Red Wings facing the Toronto Maple Leafs will take place at the Big House in Ann Arbor on New Year's Day.
Over 100,000 fans will be in attendance for the yearly event this Wednesday.
With all of the traffic for the game, Ann Arbor's Downtown Development Authority estimates revenue around $15 to $20 million for local businesses.
This is the second NHL Winter Classic the Red Wings will have participated in. The Red Wings won the classic in 2009 against the Chicago Blackhawks.
The game starts at 1 p.m., and tickets are sold out.
