The Detroit Tigers announced they are sending right-handed pitcher Anibal Sanchez to the Toledo Mud Hens and bringing up pitcher Warwick Saupold.
Sanchez, 33, has had a disappointing 2017 season so far.
In 11 games and 21 innings pitched, he has a 9.00 ERA with with 34 hits, 26 runs, 21 earned runs, nine home runs and nine walks.
This is his sixth season with the Tigers since joining them in 2012.
His ERA has grown every season with the team, and for the last two seasons he posted a 4.99 ERA and 5.87 ERA.
