Filppula to return to Red Wings tonight against Coyotes

Valtteri Filppula will return to the Red Wings lineup tonight against Phoenix. Mike Babcock confirmed the news after practice.

Filppula suffered a cut on his leg during Sunday's game in Colorado. He missed the team's game against St. Louis Tuesday.

"I felt okay, it's obviously sore but I felt a lot better than the last time I skated,'' Filppula said today.

Filppula has 8 goals and 13 assists in 25 games for Detroit this season.

He will skate on the second line tonight with Henrik Zetterberg and Jiri Hudler.

Jan Mursak also said after practice he expects to return to the Red Wings lineup in two weeks. He's been working back from a broken ankle he injured in the preseason.

Detroit is on a two-game losing skid after winning seven straight.
