Ansah and Owens out, Suh and Johnson return to Lions practice

ALLEN PARK, Mich. - Ziggy Ansah was back on the field Tuesday, but wasn't involved in the team's practice.

The team's first round pick wore tennis shoes, assisting coaches with drills, but did not work out with the team. Ansah hasn't been on the field since he left with a towel over his head August 25.

He was hit in the head during practice on August 24, and did not travel with the team to Buffalo for the preseason finale.

Special teams ace Montell Owens (knee) was the only other player to miss practice Tuesday.

Calvin Johnson and Ndamukong Suh both returned to the field for practice. Johnson missed the team's last three preseason games and Suh sat out the last week of practice and final preseason game.

The Lions open their regular season Sunday at home against the Minnesota Vikings.
