ALLEN PARK, Mich. - Nate Burleson returned to Lions practice on Tuesday, wearing a helmet on the field for the first time since he broke his arm in a car accident in September.
The Lions wide receiver has been aiming to return to the team's lineup for the game against the Chicago Bears.
Jim Schwartz tempered excitement about Burleson's practice time, saying it was one step in returning to games.
Burelson himself said it will ultimately be in the hands of the doctors.
"I want to play, but I don't want to make the coaches mad," he said, when asked if he'd push to get on the field.
Burleson had nine catches for 239 yards in the first three games of the season.
