ALLEN PARK, Mich. - Calvin Johnson is making history this season, and coaches, players, and fans of the NFL have rewarded him.
For the third straight season, Johnson has been named to the Pro Bowl. He is the lone Detroit Lions player elected as a starter.
Matthew Stafford and Ndamukong Suh were both named alternates.
After breaking Jerry Rice's single season receiving yards record Saturday, Johnson officially stamped his name in the history books. He also becomes the first Lions wide receiver named to the Pro Bowl three times since Herman Moore earned the nod four straight times from 1995-98.
Suh was also named an alternate last year after playing in the game his rookie season.
