Cliff Avril agrees to deal with Seattle Seahawks

Former Lions defensive end Cliff Avril is moving to Seattle.

Avril confirmed to the Seattle Times on Wednesday that he and the Seahawks have agreed to terms that will place the 5-year veteran on one of the NFL's best defenses.

The last three seasons, Avril appeared in 45 games and accumulated 29 sacks as a member of a strong Lions defensive line.

The Lions now have a glaring hole on the defensive line at the defensive end spot. Earlier in the offseason, the Lions released defensive end Kyle Vanden Bosch. Both players have been a staple on the Lions feared defensive line the past two seasons.
