Jones, Delmas sit out Lions practice

ALLEN Park, Mich. - Jason Jones missed Lions practice Monday, sitting out with a sore knee.

Head coach Jim Schwartz said there will come a point where players have to push through soreness, but now is not that time.

Safety Louis Delmas led a group of players in the secondary watching without helmets. He has not practiced in consecutive workouts, as Schwartz said the team will take his progress carefully. Cornerbacks Ronald Bartell and Jonte Green both sat out with a shoulder injuries. Green injured his shoulder Saturday. Chris Greenwood sat out with a hamstring.

Schwartz said the secondary, when healthy, is the best he's had since arriving in Detroit.

Before practice, the Lions activated Leroy Harris from the PUP list.

The Lions held their first practice open to all fans Monday. The estimated attendance was 1,621.
