Lions defensive tackle Corey Williams was placed on the injured reserve list this afternoon, ending his season.
The Lions signed Andre Fluellen, who was previously with the team, to take Williams place on the roster. Fluellen was released prior to the start of the 2012 regular season.
Williams has been battling a bad knee throughout the season and was forced to miss six of the Lions 13 games. He underwent surgery following the loss to Tennessee in September and returned to action for games against Chicago, Seattle and Philadelphia.
He missed the next three games and returned to the field for the Lions loss to Indianapolis on December 2.
Williams was inactive for Sunday's loss to the Green Bay Packers.
His final totals for the 2012 season: Nine tackles and two sacks, plus one forced fumble in the season opener against St. Louis.
