The Lions placed wide receiver Nate Burleson on season-ending injured reserve and signed wide receiver Brian Robiskie to take his place on the roster.
Burleson suffered a broken leg after catching a pass in the third quarter of the Lions loss to the Bears on Monday night. He is still exploring all of his surgical options and has not yet undergone surgery. He will miss up to eight months in his effort to return to action for 2013.
Robiskie most recently played with the Jacksonville Jaguars, but was released last month. In his previous three seasons with the Cleveland Browns, Robiskie caught 39 passes and scored three touchdowns.
The Lions also signed wide receiver Kendrick Adams to their practice squad.
