Lions release LB McIntosh, sign eight to practice squad

ALLEN PARK, Mich. (AP) — The Detroit Lions say they've released linebacker Rocky McIntosh, 15 days after signing the seven-year NFL veteran.

The Lions announced the move Sunday. McIntosh played six seasons for the Washington Redskins before starting nine games for the St. Louis Rams in 2012.

Detroit says it also has signed eight players to its practice squad. They are guard Rodney Austin, wide receiver Corey Fuller, cornerback Chris Greenwood, linebacker Brandon Hepburn, running backs Shaun Chapas and Steven Miller and defensive tackles Xavier Proctor and Jimmy Saddler-McQueen.
