Lions sign CB Cassius Vaughn

Allen Park, Mich. – The Detroit Lions announced today that they have signed unrestricted free agent CB Cassius Vaughn to a one-year contract.
Vaughn joins the Lions secondary after previous stops in Denver (2010-11) and Indianapolis (2012-13). Last season, he saw extensive time in the Colts defensive backfield, playing in all 16 games (four starts) and finishing with 28 tackles, a career-high three interceptions, six pass defenses, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. He also returned five kickoffs for 142 yards (28.4 avg).
An undrafted rookie free agent out of Mississippi in 2010, Vaughn has played in 54 career games (18 starts), including 13 in his first NFL season with the Broncos. His career totals include 116 tackles (101 solo), five interceptions (two touchdowns), 19 pass defenses, one forced fumble and four fumble recoveries. As a return man, he has fielded 24 kickoffs for 686 yards (28.6 avg).
Vaughn has also appeared in two playoff games (one start) with the Colts in 2012 and 2013, where he registered four solo tackles.
