ALLEN PARK, Mich. (AP) - The Detroit Lions signed first-round pick Eric Ebron to a four-year contract Friday. The North Carolina tight end was selected No. 10 overall.
"It's amazing," said Ebron. "All your hard work, everything that you worked for back to playing flag football, it's just that moment you can't describe. It's done. I'm officially a member of an organization, a team and a family. It's the Detroit Lions."
Detroit drafted the 6-foot-4, 245-pound Ebron to give Matthew Stafford another option in a potentially potent offense.
The Lions also have receivers Calvin Johnson, Golden Tate, tight ends Brandon Pettigrew and Joseph Fauria along with running backs Reggie Bush and Joique Bell and a solid offensive line.
The Lions wrapped up mandatory minicamp on Thursday and will return for training camp in late July.
