(WXYZ) - The Lions signed veteran defensive back Domonique Johnson, two days after his release from the Washington Redskins.
Johnson has played 17 games and has spent time with seven teams in four years.
He played in seven games with the Redskins last season before injuring his knee and getting put on injured reserve after the regular season finale. Johnson had eight tackles in that time.
He began his career as an undrafted free agent with the Denver Broncos in 2009. Late in that season, he played in three games with the New York Giants.
In 2010, the Giants released him after he played in seven games.
Practice squad duties with the Buccaneers, Vikings, Redskins, Eagles and Colts were wedged between his 2010 release and his 2012 season with Washington.
