Free agent safety Louis Delmas has agreed to a deal that will keep him in Detroit.
The team website confirmed a two-year deal was reached on Friday. It's the second safety the Lions have signed in the last three days, as Delmas will now be paired with former Texans safety Glover Quin in the starting lineup.
Delmas has been limited by injuries the last two seasons and only played in eight games in 2012 after missing most of training camp and the first four games of the regular season with a bad knee.
An injury to the same knee sustained in the game against the Seattle Seahawks caused Delmas to miss nearly another month of action.
Delmas is considered by many to be the emotional leader on the Lions defense. He finished 2012 with 38 tackles and one interception.
This week, Delmas reportedly had discussions with the St. Louis Rams and San Francisco 49ers before agreeing to return to Detroit.
