Martin Mayhew needs to deliver this offseason

Lions pick fifth in Thursday's draft

Lions general manager Martin Mayhew has a major task ahead of him as he looks to lead his team back to the playoffs after an incredibly disappointing 4-12 campaign in 2012.

In part one of my two-part interview, Mayhew talks about a busy offseason thus far. He's lost 60% of his starting offensive line and a kicker who's been a staple with the franchise for the last two decades.

He aggressively pursued and signed free agents who addressed immediate needs and feels confident entering the draft the Lions will find a group of players that will make the team better.

The second part of the interview will air Thursday night on our special program, "Lions Draft, Before the Snap." Join Rob Rubick and me as we get you ready for the Lions draft.  We're on the air live from 7-8pm with the latest news as the energy builds at Radio City Music Hall in New York and the Lions draft party at the Gem Theatre in Detroit.
