ALLEN PARK (WXYZ) - Lions running back Reggie Bush grew up watching Barry Sanders and does everything he can to try to replicate what the former Lions All-Pro did on the football field.
Bush has made an impression on his teammates with his work ethic and has reached out to the young players on the team.
"In baseball they have the minor leagues," said Bush. "Football should have a minor leagues, because the jump from college to the NFL is huge."
While trying to lead by example for his fellow running backs trying to make an impression, Bush is keenly aware of the recent history surrounding the Lions backfield.
"I grew up watching Barry Sanders play so I've been a fan since I was a little kid," said Bush. "I actually wanted to be like him growing up so the history is there. I know about the history of Detroit Lions. For me, I'm coming in here to hopefully help bring some knowledge to the younger guys and help with the running game obviously, too."
