Lions Fans: Thanks for your support

Another season is in the books and unfortunately, we're left with an incredibly bitter taste.  We all expected more and can't get over how the Lions season unfolded.

From the troubled offseason to the sluggish start to the injuries to the unfathomable meltdown in November and December, the 2012 season was off the tracks throughout.

All that said, I'd like to thank the thousands of you who supported us and watched our programming throughout the season, from training camp through today.

Rob, Herman and I felt your energy at Ford Field as we broadcast the Ford Lions Report Live from the atrium inside Gate A.  We enjoyed our interaction with you on Twitter during the show.  We value your feedback and tried to implement some of your suggestions into our programming.

As the flagship station of the Detroit Lions Television Network, it was an honor to connect with so many Lions fans across the state of Michigan each week.  From Escanaba to Temperance and beyond - even our friends in Canada tuned in -  we knew how big our audience was and how loyal you are to your favorite team.

We want to deliver the goods - the most entertaining and insightful television coverage of the Lions.  We aim to do that through solid research, high-energy content and informed opinions.

You want the best.  You deserve the best.  We aim to be the best.

As I thank you for your loyalty, I also want to thank Jim Schwartz, Nate Burleson and Ndamukong Suh for their professional courtesy throughout the season.  It was a tumultuous year, but all three of them brought us closer to the team and shared valuable insight with our viewers.

For Rob Rubick, Herman Moore, Matt Shepard, Charlie Sanders, Tony Ortiz, Tim Twentyman, David Solano and Brad Galli, I extend a warm thanks for making us a part of your Lions experience.

We'd love to hear your feedback, so feel free to send me an e-mail with ideas or critiques.  You can reach me at tleyden@wxyz.com

We'll stay on the Lions trail throughout the combine and the offseason and we look forward to bringing you our annual NFL Draft special at the end of April.

Happy New Year!
