(WXYZ) - The Lions pursuit of a wide receiver continued with a visit Wednesday.
Former Oakland Raiders wide receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey spent time meeting with the Lions, telling the Detroit Free Press the prospect of playing with Matthew Stafford is "very appealing."
The Lions are looking for an outside speed threat to compliment All-Pro Calvin Johnson. The team has been in search of a replacement for Titus Young, since the troubled wideout was released earlier this offseason.
Heyward-Bey left Detroit without a deal, and has already visited with the Indianapolis Colts. He has garnered interest from other teams, notably, for his speed.
Last season, Heyward-Bey had 41 catches for 606 yards and five touchdowns. In 2011, he posted his best numbers, reeling in 64 catches for 945 yards and four touchdowns.
The Raiders made Heyward-Bey the seventh overall pick of the 2009 draft.
