Ian White cuts knee, will miss 2-3 weeks
DETROIT - Another one down.
The Red Wings defensive unit has already piled up a laundry list of injuries. Three games in, Ian White has joined that group.
A deep leg cut will reportedly keep him out 2-3 weeks.
White suffered the laceration above his knee in the third period of Detroit's home-opening 2-1 loss to the Dallas Stars when Jimmy Howard's skate swung up during a save.
The team is already without Carlo Colaiacovo, who suffered a shoulder injury and is expected to be out a month, Jakub Kindl (groin), and Jonathan Ericsson, who stepped on a puck and hurt his hip.
Kindl and Ericsson could both return Friday.
Free agent defenseman Kent Huskins was signed Tuesday to fill the void for Colaiacovo, because Kindl wasn't ready to go.
