DETROIT - Jiri Hudler's time in Detroit is over.
The former Red Wings winger agreed to a four-year contract with the Calgary Flames worth $16 million.
The Red Wings expected the seven-year veteran to command a big payday in a weaker free agent class. Last season, Hudler scored 25 goals and 50 points in 81 games.
Detroit signed Mikael Samulesson and Jordin Tootoo Sunday. Samulesson likely fills Hudler's roster spot.
In his time with Detroit, the 28-year old scored 87 goals and 214 points. He was a member of the 2008 Stanley Cup championship team.
Chris Conner, who spent last season with Detroit, signed a one-year, two-way deal with the Phoenix Coyotes.
In eight games with the Red Wings in 2011-12, Conner scored a goal and two assists.
