(WXYZ) - Red Wings forward Johan Franzen has once again experienced concussion-like symptoms and has been placed on the short-term injured list.
Franzen, who returned to the lineup Sunday for the Red Wings loss to Florida, will be unable to play for seven days as he continues to recover from the symptoms. He suffered a setback after Sunday's game and was ruled out by head coach Mike Babcock this morning in Philadelphia.
The Red Wings will face the Flyers not only without Franzen, but also without Henrik Zetterberg and Pavel Datsyuk, who both are nursing injuries.
Jimmy Howard, who was added to the active roster Monday, will not start tonight. Howard will back up Jonas Gustavsson, who will get the start in net.
Joakim Andersson was added to the lineup to take Franzen's place tonight.
