The Detroit Red Wings selected 18-year-old forward Michael Rasmussen with the ninth overall pick in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft.
Rasmussen has spent the past three seasons with the Tri-City Americans of the Western Hockey League.
Last year, he scored 32 goals with 23 assists in 50 games played. He is 6-feet-6 and weighs 200 pounds.
Prior to his time with the Americans, he skated for the Okanagan Hockey Academy and was the seventh overall pick in the WHL Bantam Draft in 2014-15.
