(WXYZ) - The Red Wings have traded defenseman Kent Huskins to the Philadelphia Flyers for a conditional 2014 seventh round draft pick.
The move was made to make room for newly acquired defenseman Danny DeKeyser, signed Friday from Western Michigan.
The 32-year old Huskins was signed by the Red Wings on January 22, after injuries plagued the team's defensive unit.
In 11 games this season, he averaged 15:20 of ice time, registering four penalty minutes and a -3 plus-minus rating.
In seven seasons, Huskins has appeared in 310 career NHL games with Anaheim, San Jose, St. Louis, and Detroit. He won a Stanley Cup with the Ducks in 2007.
The Red Wings host the Blackhawks Sunday at 12:30 p.m.
