Less than a year after the groundbreaking for the all-new Jimmy John's Field in downtown Utica, the park will host the first game in the United Shore Professional Baseball League, an independent league.

First-pitch for the game between the Birmingham-Bloomfield Beavers and Utica Unicorns is scheduled at 2 p.m. with a special ribbon cutting ceremony at 12 p.m.

Skydivers will deliver the game ball and Rep. Candice Miller will throw out the first pitch.

They are expecting a sell-out at the game, which is around 4,500 people.
