John Beilein got lost looking for hotel after Michigan's win

MILWAUKEE - Michigan won its first game of the NCAA Tournament on Thursday, and soon after, John Beilein got lost in Milwaukee.

The Wolverines head coach likes to walk outside after Michigan games, but his postgame walk after the 57-40 win over Wofford quickly took a turn for the worse.

A local television crew from WNEM-TV in Saginaw spotted Beilein, aimlessly looking around with a local police officer assigned to be his bodyguard.

"I got lost going three or four blocks. I'm gonna blame the police offer with me," Beilein said Friday.

The trip from the BMO Harris Bradley Center to the team hotel is less than a half mile away. Beilein finally made his way there when WNEM reporter Jason Fielder used his phone's GPS.

"I just need fresh air after a game. We spend the whole day in the hotel, we spend the whole day in an auditorium. There's just something about going outside after a game," Beilein said.
