Lear Corporation has been named the new presenting sponsor of the Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix, the race announced today.

They have also changed the name, dropped "Belle Isle" for the race weekend on June 2-4.

The company has its world headquarters in metro Detroit, and is a leading supplier of auto seating and electrical systems. On top of becoming the presenting sponsor, they will also become the official sponsor of the Grand Prix volunteers.

"Lear is proud to partner with Chevrolet to bring the Grand Prix to the Motor City. Belle Isle Park is a perfect setting for an event like the Grand Prix," Lear President and CEO Matt Simoncini said in a release. "We are looking forward to welcoming thousands of race fans to Detroit and showcasing our city to a national television audience of millions. Detroit is America's comeback city and a great place to live, work and innovate."

Lear originally joined in on sponsorship of the Grand Prix in 2015.

"The Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix is so proud to welcome Lear Corporation as our presenting sponsor in 2017," Grand Prix Chairman Bud Denker said. "Lear and Matt Simoncini are great supporters of Detroit and our community."

On top of the announcement, the Grand Prix also unveiled a new logo, updating the previous look. It features the Scott Fountain with the GM Renaissance Center backdrop.

In all, there will be seven different races on Belle Isle for the Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix, highlighted by two IndyCar races on Saturday and Sunday for the Dual in Detroit, the only doubleheader on the 2017 IndyCar schedule.

Tickets for the race weekend are on sale now at DetroitGP.com or by calling 866-464-7749 (PRIX).
