(WXYZ) - The Lions are bringing back 12-year veteran Rashean Mathis, after agreeing to a one-year deal on Monday.
The cornerback's agent confirmed the news, first reported by ESPN's Adam Schefter, on Twitter.
Mathis joined Detroit in 2013, and played in 15 games. He recorded 47 tackles and 13 pass deflections.
For a secondary that has been one of the team's weaker units for years, Mathis provided veteran stability. He started 13 games during the season.
Mathis spent the first 10 years of his career in Jacksonville.
