CLARKSTON, Mich. - Clarkston led the entire way, winning the Meijer Game of the Week in style, 44-7 over West Bloomfield.
The Wolves leaned on their running game throughout, starting with two consecutive touchdowns from Ian Eriksen.
D.J. Zezula and Caine Watlington split time at quarterback for Clarkston, but Zezula struck gold on a swing pass to Alex Dicea. The senior running back caught the ball and ran 28 yards to put Clarkston ahead comfortably, 26-0 at halftime.
Clarkston's offense worked the game into a running clock during the third quarter. West Bloomfield freshman quarterback Tristan Jackson scored on the team's only touchdown drive of the game late in the fourth quarter.
West Bloomfield falls to 1-1 after a season-opening win last week over Jackson. Clarkston is now 2-0 after a 42-28 win over Rochester Adams last week.
In other action, Detroit Cody topped Henry Ford 54-0. Detroit Pershing beat Osborn 16-0. Utica Eisenhower shutout Ford, 56-0. Farmington Hills Harrison blew out Rochester Adams 19-7. Detroit East English Village Prep topped Detroit King 34-26. Lake Orion beat Troy Athens 68-20.
