Michigan brings in highly ranked recruiting class

ANN ARBOR, Mich. - The University of Michigan brought in one of the top ranked recruiting classes in the nation  with the official commitments of 27 recruits.

Michigan's class is ranked No. 6 in the nation according to ESPN and Rivals.

Among those recruits is quarterback Shane Morris of Warren De La Salle who is a 4-star quarterback according to most recruiting sites. Shane Morris is considered one of the top quarterback prospects in the nation and is the quarterback of the future for Michigan.

He has a very strong arm but needs to work on consistency and the mental aspects of the game. He should sit behind quarterback Devin Gardner for at least a year while getting a grasp of the offense and gaining more consistency with his throws.

Michigan's top-ranked recruit is running back Derrick Green out of Virginia (4-star according to ESPN and a 5-star according to Rivals). Derrick Green is a big running back at 6'0" 220 pounds who like to run downhill. Green is expected to compete for playing time as a freshman and should see the field in his first year in Ann Arbor.

Cass Tech lineman David Dawson is one of the top-ranked offensive linemen in this years recruiting class and is a 4-star prospect by every major recruiting site. Dawson anchors Michigan's large linemen class as he is one of six offensive linemen in this years class. Dawson is a possible starter at the guard position next season for the Wolverines.
