(WXYZ) - Michigan guard Nik Stauskas was named 2014 Big Ten Basketball Player of the Year tonight.
Stauskas was the only player voted unanimously to the All-Big Ten First Team by both the media and the coaches. He was joined on the first team by Michigan State's Gary Harris.
Stauskas was named Big Ten Player of the Week four times over the course of the season as he led the Wolverines to the Big Ten championship. Michigan enters this week's Big Ten Tournament as the top seed.
He averaged 17.4 points per game as the Wolverines finished 15-3 in the Big Ten.
Michigan's Caris LeVert was named to the All-Big Ten Second Team and Derrick Walton, Jr. was named to the All-Freshman team.
MSU's Adreian Payne joined LeVert on the All-Big Ten Second Team.
Glenn Robinson III, Keith Appling and Denzel Valentine each received honorable mention honors from both the media and the coaches.
Michigan's John Beilein was named Big Ten Coach of the Year by the media , while Nebraska's Tim Miles was named Big Ten Coach of the Year by the coaches.
