Michigan's John Beilein named Big Ten Coach of the Year

(WXYZ) - Michigan head coach John Beilein has been named Big Ten Coach of the Year, as voted on by the media.

The Wolverines won their first outright conference title in 28 years. They head into this week's Big Ten Tournament as the No. 1 seed.

Michigan is 23-7 this season, and is currently ranked as a No. 3 seed in ESPN's Bracketology.

This is Beilein's seventh season in Ann Arbor. He led Michigan to the Final Four last season, ultimately losing to Louisville in the National Championship.

Nebraska coach Tim Miles was selected as Coach of the Year by the conference's coaches.
