FCD's Cunningham claims MLS Golden Boot

FC Dallas striker Jeff Cunningham claimed the 2009 Golden Boot awarded to Major League Soccer's top goal scorer at the end of the regular season.

Cunningham scored a career-high 17 goals to pace the league, one ahead of Colorado Rapids striker Conor Casey. He joins Taylor Twellman, Carlos Ruiz, Stern John and Roy Lassiter as two-time Golden Boot winners after also winning the award as a member of Real Salt Lake in 2006.

Cunningham is second all-time on the career goal-scoring list with 121 regular season goals, just 10 behind D.C. United forward Jaime Moreno.
