NOVI (WXYZ) - The Lions talk a lot about their camaraderie being better than it's ever been before and it showed itself at Golden Tate's 'Stars and Strikes' bowling event in Novi.
Over 20 players showed up to meet the veterans on hand as well as those who were on hand to help raise money for charities that help veterans.
"Our veterans are real life heroes, they are like superheros to me, we're very blessed to be in a situation to bless others," Lions wide receiver Tate added.
A special part of the night was when Tate surprised veteran Jacob Loomis with a new bed, a custom autographed helmet and $5,000 for him to help pay it forward to other charities of his choosing.
