New England quarterback Tom Brady will return to Ann Arbor this fall to serve at Michigan football's honorary captain when they face Colorado on Sept. 17.

Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh told the news to Rich Eisen Wednesday morning.

The scheduling may have been impossible if not for Brady's four game suspension to start the season.

Brady was one of the stars and U-M alumni included in the 'Signing of the Stars' event for National Signing Day. He was a student at U-M from 1995 to 1999 and played for the Wolverines in from 1997 to 1999.

Brady will find himself in good company as an honorary captain for Michigan. This weekend at the home opener, Michael Jordan will be at the Big House for the same purpose.
