Follwing neck injury, Ondre Pipkins returns to watch Michigan afternoon practice

ANN ARBOR, Mich. (WXYZ) - Police responded to Schembechler Hall Friday morning on reports of a football player with a neck injury.

According to the University of Michigan athletic department, Ondre Pipkins injured his neck during practice today.

"He had movement in all extremities and was taken to UM Health System for precautionary reasons and evaluation," head coach Brady Hoke said in a statement.

Pipkins is a freshman defensive tackle who hails from Kansas City, Mo. He was rated as a four-star recruit, the No. 16 defensive tackle nationally and the No. 5 Missouri prospect by

Reportedly, Pipkins was healthy enough to return for afternoon practice. He was able to walk around and watch his teammates.
