We may already have a candidate for the craziest goal of the year int he NHL.
During the Detroit Red Wing's season opener against the Tampa Bay Lightning, defenseman Danny DeKeyser scored on a shot from center ice that bounced off the boards and Tampa Bay goalie Ben Bishop.
Down 5-3 with two minutes left in the third period, the Red Wings won the faceoff and the puck went to DeKeyer following a pass.
DeKeyser then took a shot to get the puck in Tampa's zone, which bounced off the boards, through Bishop's legs, off his left pad and into the net.
Bishop was so stunned he fell over and almost knocked the net off. Detroit ended up losing the game 6-4.
